Pre-Raphaelite Drawings & Watercolours at the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford

Writer's picture: Lisa PaddonLisa Paddon

Here are some of the photos I took today of the Pre-Raphaelite exhibition.

When looking at the draughtsmanship, what struck me was the softness of the pressure of the graphite or chalk on the paper and precision of the subjects in the drawings.

The pastel drawings where quite incredible,

What I also found interesting was added contour lines across the face and hair giving shape direction. and energy over the different contours.
