Classical Oil Painting Course - Methods & Materials

In this introductory course in classical oil painting methods and materials from the late 16th Century, you follow a process that the great masters used such as Carrivagio , Rembrandt and Leonardo. You will be shown the secrets of how they created their paintings.

In this introductory course you will create an underpainting over the first three sessions which creates the foundation painting. You will create oil paint from traditional pigment, and learn how to apply a specialist glazing technique.

The following two sessions, you will apply colour in fine layers of oil paint.

"I did this course at Lisa Paddon Studio and I really benefitted from Lisa's expert tuition. I had never attempted a Classical painting course before - I mainly painted landscapes, trees etc. with most of my paintings being one-dimensional. This course is unbelievable and Lisa gives you the confidence to bring out your ability to produce a great piece of work - even if you have never painted before. You also learn an amazing process that you can use in your painting going forward. Believe me, it's magic!
